  • Tim Hare

Tim Hare is the co-founder (along with his brother Dave) of Harbro Sales & Service, Inc.  Together, in 1973, Tim and Dave began Harbro (short for Hare Brothers) on Linwood Avenue in Whitinsville in a small, sometimes crowded service station.

In the beginning, Harbro provided just automotive repair services.  Tim had a love of automobiles and people, and was a graduate of Worcester Boy's Trade Automotive program, and Dave was a self-taught automotive technician, and brilliant in all that he tackled.

Together, Dave and Tim, with great support from Dave's wife Marion, and Tim's wife Jane earned the trust and the dedication of a large following of repeat customers from miles around and from all walks of life.  Folks knew they could trust their cars to the Hare Brothers.

In 1974, not too long after they started Harbro, Tim began to see a need and an opportunity to grow Harbro by offering top quality guaranteed used cars to a market that was more than ready for the positive changes Harbro Sales & Service, Inc. was offering. Not too long after they were married in 1974, Jane agreed to let Tim sell her own personal 1972 Chevelle which she had bought before they were married, to raise some money to purchase the first car to sell as a used car dealer. The rest, as they say, is history! Over 4 decades later, Jane is still his biggest supporter. Thank you Jane!!!

  • Pat Mahoney
    Transportation Manager in Whitinsville

Pat started in the garage and car business 50 years ago. This taught him that this is "not a black and white business" Starting out as a part time employee at Leroy's, he left the company when it was sold. He continued in the business by working part time at General Automotive, later becoming a full time employee in late 1962. Up until Pat met Tim Hare and became a good friend of his, he was working days with no sleep. He met Tim when he was working at J&S Motors, he would always be coming to see Pat at General.

Keeping himself out of trouble, Pat took on the position of Working Manager at General, and would spend the free time he got from his 80-hour work weeks at Harbro helping out Tim and his brother Dave any way he could.

When Tim built the new location, Pat helped supply them with equipment. Pat would take time off from his job to go up to New York with Tim to buy cars. Pat started enjoying his time at Harbro so much, that after 17 years of working for General's, he left and began working full time at Harbro in 1990.

  • Dave Curini
    Inventory Manager

Dave started his tenure at Harbro years ago as a salesman.  He quickly learned that as much fun as it was to sell cars, it was even more fun to buy them.  He now spends his days traveling New England (and most of the eastern time zone) to track down your dream car.

On his rare day off you will often find him in front of a grill, on a mountain side, or tracking down the newest craft beer release.  Go Patriots!
